Safety check
To prevent any impairment of the system’s safety as a result of ageing, wear,
etc., the operating company must ensure, in accordance with the applicable
national regulations, that the regular technical safety checks defined for this
device are performed on schedule and to the stipulated extent.
The safety checks must be performed only by the manufacturer or qualified
personnel.
The scope of the system safety checks should include at least the following:
– Availability of the instructions for use
– Visual inspection of the device and its accessories for damage, as well as
legibility of markings and labels
– Leakage current test
– Test of protective ground conductor
– Function and wear test of the steerable casters and locking tabs
– Functional check of all switches, buttons, connectors, and indicator lamps
on the device
– Function test of manual mode without the patient, at least semi-annually
CAUTION Risk of injury without safety inspection!
Without a safety inspection, hazards and device deficiencies will not be
detected in time and can have a negative effect on patients, users, or others.

Have a safety inspection performed in compliance with IEC 62353 on
time and to the prescribed extent. Observe the applicable national regu-
lations.
