Setting up the system
Limiting downward movement of the suspension arm
Proceed as follows to limit downward movement:
•
Loosen the locking lever (1) for the upward/downward movement.
•
Lower the surgical microscope until it can be focused on the surgical field
(depending on the focal length of the objective lens). At the same time,
ensure that there is sufficient safety distance to the surgical field.
•
Firmly retighten the locking lever (1) for the upward/downward movement.
•
Lower the surgical microscope to its lowest position again, and check the
safety distance.
The limit of downward travel is only effective in the lower part of the suspension
arm’s vertical movement range (starting from the arm’s horizontal position).

CAUTION Risk of injury caused by lowering of the surgical microscope!
If the surgical microscope has not been correctly balanced, it may lead to
downward movement and cause injury to the patient.
•
Adjust the limit of downward travel of the suspension arm in such a way
– that the surgical microscope cannot come into contact with the
patient, even if it is inadvertently lowered.
– that, during coarse focus with the suspension arm, there is sufficient
distance maintained from the patient, particularly if a fundus viewing
system and other accessories are mounted.
