2.2.14 Changing the beam splitter in the FL reflector module
Attachment of filters and of the beam splitter requires utmost care to prevent damage and
contamination of the optical components.
We would recommend you to order completely equipped FL reflector modules, since changing the beam
splitter requires much skill.
Otherwise, proceed as follows:
•
Remove FL reflector module from the reflector
turret (also see 2.2.12).
•
Loosen the two hexagonal screws (2-44/ 1 )
using the SW 2.5 ball-headed screwdriver.
•
Pull apart both halves of the reflector module
(2-44/
2 and 5 ) and carefully remove the beam
splitter.
•
Insert spring frame (2-44/ 4 ) in the mount of the
lower part (2-44/ 5 ).
•
Carefully place new beam splitter, with its
reflecting side pointing upwards, on the spring
frame (2-44/
4 ) in the lower part.
•
Attach upper module half (2-44/ 2 ) to the lower
one (2-44/ 5 ) and connect both halves using the
hexagonal screws (2-44/ 1 ).
When looking carefully, the reflecting side of the beam splitter can be recognized by the reflecting layer
not reaching up to the very edge.
Another aid is the use of a piece of paper which, depending on its orientation, displays a small (reflecting
side!) or no distance when laid on the beam splitter surface.
•
Finally, attach the adhesive label with the name of the filter combination to the side of the module.
