Step 5. At stabilizer, remove one 4-40x3/8"PFZ screw that secures stabi-
lizer to stepper motor and remove stabilizer (
).
Figure 3-8: Dimmer Motor Replacement
Step 6. At stepper motor, remove three 4-40x5/16"PPB screws and #4
flat washers and remove motor. (Do not loose spacers fitted into
each grommet.)
Step 7. Using screwdriver, loosen 6-32x3/4"PPZ screw clamping
heatsink onto motor. Slide heatsink off motor.
Step 8. Install heatsink on replacement motor:
a. Apply silicone grease to four sides of motor casing.
b. Position heatsink as shown in
, ensuring that short
ridges are facing large hole in bulkhead.
c. Slide heatsink over motor, routing motor wires between
clamping gap.
d. Insert 6-32x3/4"PPZ screw thru heatsink clamp (leave wires
on bulkhead side of screw). Thread a 6-32 KEPS nut on end
of screw. Using screwdriver, tighten heatsink clamp until
heatsink is securely attached to motor.
CAUTION: When re-assembling dimmer bulkhead and heatshield, ensure
that thermal switch wires (orange) are routed around standoffs to avoid
interference with dimmer blade during luminaire operation.
Step 9. Re-install motor on dimmer bulkhead by doing Steps 2 thru 6 in
reverse. (Use Loctite 245 on three 4-40x5/16"PPB screws that
secure motor in place.)
