If you use the serial communication instead of the USB connection, it is necessary to prepare the cable shown 

below. Do not connect the pin not used, cut the line or pull out the pin. 

As for the serial port used, PC that the RS232 port was implemented by main body is recommended. USB-serial 

converter might cause the problem of depending on the behavior of the device driver in some cases. 

Your PC might temporarily not respond for the load by processing.
