2.1 Powering On the Server
Note –
You must have the host CPU board, alarm card, and system controller board
installed in the Netra CT server before you can power it on; the server will not
power on properly unless these three are installed. Once the system is powered on
and running, then you can hot-swap any of the three components as documented in
this manual.
Note –
Do not reboot the server if the alarm card is in the process of resetting.
The system power on sequence is as follows:
1. The alarm card comes up and powers on the power supplies
2. The alarm card powers on I/O boards
3. The alarm card powers on the host CPU board, and the Solaris OS boots
4. The alarm card powers on satellite CPU boards supported by Sun Microsystems,
such as the Netra CP2160 and the Netra CP2500.
The power on sequence must finish before you can use the alarm card CLI
commands
poweron cpu_node
and
poweroff cpu_node
