Tube compensation
All ventilation modes can be combined with tube compensation. This
function lets you adjust the ventilation pressure to the resistance of the
tracheal or endotracheal tube. During mandatory ventilation, increased
airway resistance is of minor importance. However, during spontaneous
breathing it makes breathing more difficult and requires more breathing
effort.

NOTE
If tube compensation is activated, the calculated tracheal pressure and pressure in the
tube system are visualized simultaneously as a pressure curve. The pressure in the
tube system is visualized as a filled curve, the tracheal pressure as a single black line.
Additional pressure support can significantly reduce the breathing effort
for the patient. The following parameters must be set:
