SIMOCRANE CenSOR operating conditions

The SIMATIC MV540 H CRANES camera is designed for fixed installation in weather-protected 
locations. The camera fulfills the operating conditions according to:

• DIN IEC 60721-3-3 class 3M3 (mechanical requirements)

• DIN IEC 60721-3-3 class 3K3 (climatic ambient conditions)

Operating conditions of version 1 (indoor)

The components of the SIMATIC MV540 H CRANES camera include:

• Lens

• Ring light

• Protective lens barrel

• Power supply cables

• Communication connection

There are four threaded holes on the front and the rear of the camera so as to permit flexible 
mounting. 

The reflectors are made of V4A stainless steel and are equipped with a reflector foil which has 
been proven for outdoor use.

Operating conditions of version 2 (outdoor)

NOTICE
Protect the stainless steel housing against direct solar radiation

Protect the stainless steel housing against direct solar radiation. This is a requirement for the 
specified temperature range up to a maximum of +50 °C.

During installation, make sure that suitable protection is available.

The components of the SIMOCRANE CenSOR system (with reflector) located outside a control 
cabinet are designed to withstand the harsh conditions associated with harbor and industrial 
cranes. The SIMATIC MV540 H CRANES camera is installed in a V4A stainless steel housing 
complete with lens, IR filter and heater.

The reflectors are also made of V4A stainless steel and a reflector foil which has been proven for 
outdoor use.
