SSL certificate
In this group, you can transfer certificate files and certificate key files to the camera. You can use
the certificates to integrate the camera in your own security infrastructure. Certificates are used
to check the identity of a person or a device, to authenticate a service or to encrypt files. You can
create your own certificates or use official certificates created by a certification authority. Contact
your administrative IT department for further information on the topic of certificates.
The certificate file and certificate key file together are referred to as the device certificate in the
following. If you have installed a device certificate, it is stored in encrypted form in the device
configuration and can be transferred to other devices.
NOTICE
Save the device configuration before uploading certificates
Export your device configuration before installing a certificate. If you experience compatibility
problems with your web browser during or after the upload which require that you restore the
factory settings of the camera, this gives you the option of reverting to the previous state.
Note
Check validity period and block status
Note that the camera does not check the validity period or the block status of a certificate. If
these checks fail at the web browser end, you may get locked out of the WBM of the camera.

Certificate type You can select the file format of the device certificate from this drop-
down list.
• PEM/CRT/CER
In this file format, the certificate file and certificate key file are stored
in separate files.
• PKCS #12
In this file format, the certificate file and certificate key file are stored
in a single file.
• PEM
In this file format, the certificate file and certificate key file are stored
in a single file.
File with certificate (chain) Click "File selection" to select the required certificate file.
Key Precondition: The certificate type "PEM/CRT/CER" was selected.
Click "File selection" to select the required certificate key file.
Password for private key The certificate key files in the file formats "PEM/CRT/CER" and "PKCS #12"
can be password-protected. This protects the private key. If this is the
case, you must enter the password in this input box.
