Configuring Converter Locking
Converter Locking allows you to specify that an up/down converter is dedicated to a specific bus. This
allows that bus to always have a converter available regardless of the SmartConversion resources
being used by other buses. The main Program and Preset Buses are ideal candidates for converter
locking.
Use the following procedure to lock an up/down converter to a bus pair:
1. Navigate to the
SmartConversion Menu
as follows:
•
Press
HOME
B
MORE
B
Setup
B

B

2. Press
Converter Locking
to display the
Converter Locking Menu
.

3. Specify an up/down converter as being locked to a specific bus pair as follows:
•
Use the
Converter
knob
to select the Aux Bus that the desired converter is
connected to.
•
Use the
Bus/Pair
knob to select the specific bus pair to lock the converter to. You
can select from the following:
~
None
— The specified up/down converter is not locked to a specific bus pair.
~
MLE 1 BKGD+PST
— The specified up/down converter is locked to the
Back Preset bus pair on MLE 1.
~
MLE 1 KEY 1
— The specified up/down converter is locked to the Key 1
Video + Alpha bus pair on MLE 1.
~
MLE 1 KEY 2
— The specified up/down converter is locked to the Key 2
Video + Alpha bus pair on MLE 1.
~
MLE 1 Util
— The specified up/down converter is locked to the Utility bus on
MLE1.
~
MLE 2 BKGD+PST
— The specified up/down converter is locked to the
Back Preset bus pair on MLE 2.
~
MLE 2 KEY 1
— The specified up/down converter is locked to the Key 1
Video + Alpha bus pair on MLE 2.
~
MLE 2 KEY 2
— The specified up/down converter is locked to the Key 2
Video + Alpha bus pair on MLE 2.
Important
Buses are always locked in pairs. P Preset buses are always
paired and Key buses have Video + Key Alpha video signals always
paired.
