Synergy Q/MD Engineering Manual (v9.1 MD)

Preliminary Cabling and Video Installation • 4–5

Remote Aux Panel Interconnection — Synergy 2 and 2.5 Control Panels

Use the following procedure to install the control cables between the control panel and each remote 
Aux panel:

1. Ensure that you have the correct 

6-pin 

shielded Telco cable, with a 

6-pin RJ-12

 

connector at each end.

2. Connect a 6-pin shielded Telco cable (of the supplied or custom length) between the 

AUX 1 

connector on the control panel and the connector labelled 

MAIN 

on the rear of 

the 

first 

Aux panel in line.

3. To daisy-chain additional Aux panels (up to 

8

), connect a 6-pin shielded Telco cable 

between the Aux panel connector labeled 

ECHO 

and the connector labeled 

MAIN 

on 

the 

next 

Aux panel in line. 

4. Repeat step 3 for all additional Aux panels in the 

AUX 1 

daisy-chain (up to the 

maximum of 

8

 panels per chain). 

This completes the procedure for installing the control cables of a Remote Aux Panel to the Synergy 
Q/MD control panel. Repeat this procedure to connect additional Remote Aux Panels to the 

AUX 2

 

port.

Synergy 1 Q/MD Remote Aux Panel Cabling

Unlike the 

Synergy 1.5, 2

 and 

2.5 Q/MD

 

Switchers

, the 

Synergy 1 Q/MD

 does not have a dedicated 

AUX

 port. Instead, the provided 

RJ-12 to DB9 Aux Adapter

 must be installed and setup in the 

Remote 5

 port on the rear of the control panel in order to connect a 

Remote Aux Panel

 to the 

switcher.
