Synergy Q/MD Engineering Manual (v9.1 MD)

7. Repeat this procedure for all the 

Video Processor Boards

 and 

Squeeze & Tease 

Carriers

 in the frame.

This completes the procedure for unseating the front frame boards. With the boards unseated, you can 
upgrade the switcher core.

Upgrading the Switcher Core

To upgrade the switcher core, you must log into the Q/MD/X Web Interface and upload the new 
software package.

Use the following procedure to upgrade the switcher:

1. On your computer, open your Web Browser and, in the address bar, enter the IP address 

of your frame and press Enter. The 

MD/X Web Interface Splash Screen

 is displayed.

2. When the 

Login Dialog Box

 appears, enter your username and password as follows:

•

In  the 

Name

 field, enter the username for the MD/X Web Interface account.

•

In  the 

Password

 field, enter the password for the MD/X Web Interface account.

•

Click 

OK

 to display the 

System Information Page

. This page shows a list of all the 

upgradable components on the boards, cards, and modules installed in the control 
panel and frame. Refer to the section “

System Info

” on page 6-6 for more 

information on this page.

3. Click 

Upgrade

 to display the 

Upgrade Page

. The 

Upgrade Page

 lists all the previous 

upgrade packages that were stored on the hard drive of the frame. 

Important

Ensure that the switcher is fully powered up before attempting the 
upgrade. When the switcher is fully powered up, it is able to pass video 
normally and, if you have the Squeeze & Tease MD option installed, 
you are able to fly a key.
