Taking the Library Online/Offline

Taking a library online makes it accessible to host applications via the

Storage Area Network (SAN). Taking a library offline makes it
inaccessible to host applications via the SAN.

Taking a Library Online

Using the library’s operator panel, select

Operations > Change

Partition Mode

; or, using the web client, select

Operations > Partitions

> Change Mode

For each partition that you want to take online, click

Online

Click

Apply

Warning:

Without tape drives, tape cartridges, or power supplies, a

control module weighs approximately 58 lbs. An
expansion module, without tape drives, tape cartridges, or

power supplies, exceeds 65 lbs.

To avoid serious injury, at least two people are required to

safely lift the modules into position.
