Muting
Pressing the muting key
S
deactivates the microphone during a call, and
the person at the other end of the line can no longer hear you. Press the key
again to switch the microphone back on.
Call-charge Display, Duration Display
If your network operator transmits call-charge information, and if you have
dialled an external number yourself, you will see the current amount of the
charge in the info line during or at the end of a call. The menu item

settings

4 Phone settings
MenuCard lets you deactivate this or switch
to the duration display (see also
MenuCard “Phone Settings”
starting on
page 117).
Adjusting the Volume with the Plus/Minus Key
Use the plus/minus key
=
to adjust
●
the volume of the loudspeaker in hands-free/open-listening mode,
●
the volume of the handset during a call via the handset
●
or the volume of the headphone during a call via a headset.
When the telephone is in its idle state again, it reverts to the default menu
setting. You can change the default setting using the
1 Volume
menu item in
the
4 Phone settings
MenuCard (see also
MenuCard “Phone Settings”
starting
on page 117).
When you receive a call, you can use the plus/minus key to adjust

ringing tone volume. This setting is stored immediately (even without
pressing the
O
key) and will be active for all future calls.
