6.4 Leveling
the Print Head
Assembly to
Deck (Belts)
The print head assembly should be re-levelled in situations where:
• you have replaced it
• you have changed the upper or lower shafts on which it mounts
• you are experiencing printing issues that indicate uneven head position
Levelling the print head assembly (see figure below) involves two procedures:
• setting the vertical height of the print head assembly by adjusting the
up-
per
shaft
• setting the parallelism between the print head assembly and the print
deck (belts) by adjusting the
lower
shaft

Adjusting the Vertical Height (Upper Shaft Adjustment)
1. Remove rear cover (see section 5.2) and front top cover (see step 2 from
section 5.16).
2. Turn the thickness adjustment knob to send the print head assembly to its
lowest position.
3. Loosen the print head clamp knob and move the print head assembly
against the chassis wall.
