Description:
Each port on the Sat-ABIS card consists of 24 (T1) or 32 (E1) channels or
timeslots (we will use the term channels here). There is no ABIS standard
that defines how these channels are to be used in practice. A BTS consists
of a number of transceivers, each of which is associated with a number of
T1/E1 channels. Each of these will be allocated in some proportion between
voice and signalling, using a combination of 16kbps and/or 64kbps chunks.
