Section 2C: Using Your Device’s Organizer Features
Beaming an Application
Not all applications can be beamed. A lock icon
appears on the
Beam
screen
next to applications that cannot be beamed.
1.
Go to
Applications
.
2.
Open the
menus
.
3.
Select
Beam
on the
App
menu.
4.
Select the
Beam From
pick list and select whether the application you want
to beam is located on your Treo 650 or an expansion card.
5.
Select the application you want to transfer, and then select
Beam
.
6.
When the
Beam Status
dialog box appears, point the IR port on your
Treo 650 directly at the IR port of the receiving device.
7.
Wait for the
Beam Status
dialog box to indicate that the transfer is complete
before you continue using your Treo 650.
Receiving Beamed Information
You can store beamed entries and applications on your device, or send them to an
expansion card inserted in the expansion slot.
1.
Turn on your screen.
2.
Point the IR port on your Treo 650 directly at the IR port of the transmitting
device to open the
Beam Status
dialog box.
3.
When the
Beam
dialog box appears, select a category or expansion card.
(If you don’t select a category, the item goes in the Unfiled category.)
4.
Press
Up
to receive the beam or press
Down
to refuse it.
