In the example provided, two points are identified as falling outside the working envelope. One
point identified as out of bounds is located at 400.007, 0, 50, 0 (X, Y, Z, Θ) and the other is located at
405.002, 0, 50, 0. Because the working envelope is 400, 400, 100, 300, the X-Axis points need to be
adjusted. However, one must decide whether to reprogram the two points within the working
envelope or to choose a starting point 5.1mm to the left so that both points of the Tip Cleaning Profile
are brought back within the boundary of the unit. Both approaches are acceptable, but the choice
between one or the other should be based off the application. Use the following table to help decide
whether to change the start location or the TCP.
Reprogramming Decision Guide
Changing the TCP Start Location
Changing the Points Within TCP
≥ 3 Points Are Out of Bounds
< 3 Points Are Out of Bounds
TCP is very complex
Obstructions Prevent New Start Location
TCP Provides Ideal Cleaning
TCP Contains Extraneous Points
Process Control Prevents Change of TCP
