Driving technique of front drive
vehicle is specific and slightly differ-
ent from driving technique of rear
drive vehicle, especially when cor-
nering. When approaching to the
turn you should assess it in advance,
and, depending on the radius of the
turn and road conditions, reduce the
speed and drive through the turn,
gradually increasing the rotation
speed of the engine shaft. This
allows you to pass the turn steady
even in slippery areas, avoid sudden
braking or rapid throttle lifting off in
the turn, which can lead to loss of
wheel gripping, respectively, to loss
of control of the vehicle.
If possible drive without sharp
accelerations and decelerations, as
it leads to increased tire wear and
increased fuel consumption. Fuel
consumption is also increased
because of low air tire pressure, worn
or dirt sparkplugs, using of motor oils
for the engine with higher viscosity
than recommended.
ATTENTION!
Sudden starting, including
starting with the handbrake on, it
is not allowed to turn the front
wheels to slip at maximum engine
speed!
Also, fuel consumption is increa-
sed when towing a trailer. In addition,
when towing the trailer the loads on
the body, the engine and the trans-
mission are increased and reduce
their operation life.
While driving, keep an eye on the
operation of various systems on the
relevant devices and alarms. Under
normal conditions, red alarms must
not light – they indicate that it is nec-
essary to check the relevant system
at any SSNE. When driving on pud-
dles reduce speed to avoid
hydroplaning, which can cause a
skid or loss of control. Worn tires
increase this danger.
ATTENTION!
To prevent engine damage
caused by water entering its
cylinders through the air intake, it
is not allowed to overcome body
of water with a depth of more than
300 mm. Driving on relatively
deep bodies of water should be
carried out with the least possible
speed in order to avoid waves that
can fill in the engine air intake.
After overcoming puddles, and
after washing the vehicle or during
long driving on wet roads when water
enters the brake system, brake
smoothly several times to dry discs,
drums and brake pads.
Warning
Be very careful in first minutes
after the rain, as wetted dust on
the road surface forms slippery
coat that sharply reduces tire grip
on the road.
ATTENTION!
After overcoming fords or deep
puddles and if you intend to park
the vehicle for a long time, it is
necessary to provide short run of
the vehicle to dry the assemblies
in order to avoid corrosion dam-
age to the clutch collar bearing
and front and rear wheel bear-
ings.
While overtaking in rainy weather
switch on the windshield wiper to the
maximum mode (see the section
«Wiper switch») – this will help you to
avoid the loss of visibility due to the
potential release of water by the
wheels of transport being overtaken.
It is recommended to observe these
safety precautions if you are overtak-
en.
