level properly you should insert indi-
cator 1 to its location hole until it
stops.
ATTENTION!
Do not exceed the oil level in
the engine case above MAX mark
of oil level indicator 1.
Otherwise, the oil through the en-
gine case ventilation system will
enter the combustion chamber and
together with exhaust gases will be
emitted into the atmosphere, and oil
combustion products may result in a
failure of the catalytic converter.
AIR INTAKE
When driving in areas with high
dust (dirt roads, construction zones,
etc.) it is recommended to change
the air filter element of the engine
twice more often than specified in
the vehicle log book.

GEARBOX
Manual transmission
Check the oil level in the mecha-
nical transmission in the cooled
gearbox. The oil level should be at
the lower edge of inspection hole 1
(Fig. 50). Top up the oil (see Annex
1) in small portions through inspec-
tion hole 1.
Drain the used oil through the
hole closed with plug 2.
Automatic transmission
The working fluid in the automatic
transmission is filled by the manu-
facturer and does not require
replacement during operation of
the vehicle. The exception is repla-
cement of the working fluid in the
repair of the automatic transmission.
Checking the level and replacing
the working fluid (if necessary) are
recommended to carry out at any
certified SSNE.
ATTENTION!
Only use Genuine EJ-1ATF
fluid for automatic transmissions
(supplier JX Nippon Oil and
Energy Corporation). The use of
other fluid types will lead to a fail-
ure of the automatic transmis-
sion and reducing its service life;
it also can cause malfunctions,
removal of which is not covered
by the warranty of the manufac-
turer.
Do not pour the oil over the
maximum permissible level, it
can lead to splashes of oil
through the breather that can
then ignite the oil, when it drops
onto hot engine parts.
