The security level established for the call is dependent on the strapping of both STEs (Traditional, Auto-
Secure, or Secure-Only) and on parameters set into the STEs (preferred vocoder type, data rate).
At the conclusion of the "initial call establishment period”, the display will indicate the security status of the
call and you will be presented with available secure and/or non-secure call options.
Follow the procedures in
, depending of the call type.

BDI - Answering Calls
When the STE is on-hook and an incoming call is being received the BDI Incoming Call Menu (
) is displayed and all information except “
mmm
” and “
ssss
”. When the STE is taken off-hook
(handset picked up,

pressed or the corresponding

pressed), all information is displayed.
