You may answer an incoming call by lifting the handset, pressing the 

CALL

 button of the incoming call, or 

pressing 

SPKR

.  Calls answered by pressing 

CALL

 or 

SPKR

 will be routed to the speakerphone.  If the 

speakerphone function has been disabled, for either the non-secure or the secure mode, or both, the call 
will be connected but not audible.  Under this condition, to speak or listen to the caller, you must lift the 
handset.  Depending upon the configuration of the communicating sets, an answered call may be 
connected in any of the three call modes (non-secure voice, secure voice, or secure data).

There is no “Call Hold” function available for BDI.

7-6.  VOICE CALL FAILURES 

Calls made from, or received by, your STE may fail for a number of reasons. 

Table 7-4

 lists some failures and the associated STE displays.  Depending upon the STE’s configuration 

and the nature of the failure, you may or may not be provided an option for continuing the call.
