4-2.3 User Card
All crypto cards, including the TPA, must be “Associated” with a STE before it can be used for secure
communications. In other words, the card must be converted to a User Card for that STE. Secure
capabilities for a User Card are limited to specific STEs established under the control of the TPA. A
single Crypto Card can be associated with up to nine different STEs.
To establish a User Card, by converting a Fill Card, proceed as follows:
1. Press MENU on the front panel to bring up the TERMINAL MANAGEMENT menu ( Figure 4-5 ).

SCROLL Advances display to CRYPTO CARD MANAGEMENT menu ( Chapter 1 )
BACK Exits Menu function – clears display

The Soft Key to be pressed is set in BOLD .
Press SELECT to advance the display.
2. The next display is the NETWORK SETTINGS menu ( Figure 4-6 ).

Press SCROLL to advance the display.
3. The TERMINAL PRIVILEGES, ASSOCIATION, AND SOFTWARE UPDATE MANAGEMENT
menu ( Figure 4-7 ) is the first step where a challenge is presented to allow only the TPA to
proceed.
