If the current setting (Asynchronous or Synchronous) must be changed, press CHANGE until the correct
mode is presented in the display. After setting the mode, press
SCROLL
to advance the display to the
SECURE DATA (rate) menu.

*115 not offered when configured for TRI-TAC or BDI networks.

If you choose to change the data rate, press

If you choose to modify the current mode (LPC10e or CELP), press

to move to the MODE Setting Menu (SECURE
DATA/SECURE VOICE) menu or

to clear the display.
NOTE
This option would normally be set to CELP. The STE terminal will automatically
select LPC-10e if you connect to a STU-III that does not support CELP. We
recommend that you set the data mode setting the same at both terminals before
you attempt a data call.
