Table 8-2. Configuration Commands

Command Result/Meaning

Q0

Enable result codes. This command causes the STE to return result
codes to the DTE.

Q1

Disable result codes. This command causes the STE to inhibit returning
result codes to the DTE.

V0

Send short form result codes. This command causes the STE to send
short form result codes to the DTE. The short form result codes are
defined in

V1

Send verbose result codes. This command causes the STE to send
verbose form result codes to the DTE. The verbose form result codes
are defined in

E0

Inhibit Echo. This command inhibits the STE from echoing commands
sent from the DTE back to the DTE

E1

Enable Echo. This command causes the commands sent to the STE
from the DTE to be echoed back to the DTE.

+Q0

Enable message control. This command causes the STE to send the
information that would be displayed on the terminal, if the terminal were
in local mode, to the DTE. Each line of display information sent is
preceded and followed by carriage return and line feed characters (as
defined by S3 and S4). The display information is sent as verbose
ASCII characters regardless of the “Q” and “V” settings.
