Press Result:
CONFIRM
When pressed, acknowledges an advisory or authorize a change previously selected for
execution.
ABORT
When pressed, returns to the next higher display, normally the preceding menu without
allowing a change, if made.
3-1.3.1.4 Data Entry Display
In a “data entry” display (
), you enter data in line 2 by using the keypad. Line 1 contains
prompt information. Line 2 contains the data you are entering from the keypad.

STORE
When pressed, the data in line 2 is accepted, stored in memory, and the display is
returned to the preceding or next higher menu.
DELETE
Is only available if data is present in line 2. Acts as a “backspace” by deleting the last
character entered.
ABORT
Cancel the data in line 2 and returns the display to the next higher display.
3-1.3.2 Control Keys and Indicators
3-1.3.2.1 Soft Keys
The four Soft Keys located below the alphanumeric display provide interaction with the STE (as indicated
in the bottom line of the display) during programming and operation
3-1.3.2.2 Precedence Key and Indicator
Press the
PREC
(Precedence) key to send the AUTOVON precedence tones available only with Multi-
Level Precedence Preemption (MLPP) capable networks. These include ISDN, PSTN, and TRI-TAC.
For PSTN, the STE must have the DIALING MODE feature set to tone and the PRE-EMPT TONE
DETECT feature enabled.
3-1.3.2.3 Hookflash Key and Indicator
Hookflash is an internal feature of the STE used to activate features (call waiting, transfer) on your PSTN
service. Pressing the
HOOKFLASH
key allows the STE to initiate a measured on-hook (line disconnect)
to the active line. Your service provider can tell you what special features are available for activation with
HOOKFLASH
.
