4-3. TRANSFER TPA PRIVILEGES
The original TPA Card privileges can be transferred to a replacement card using the “Transfer TPA
Privilege” function.
The first process that must be completed is the assignment of a TPA Password. This is accomplished in
the TPA functional hierarchy. Knowing this password will allow the original TPA’s privileges to be
transferred to another card that will serve as a new TPA Card. This feature accommodates the
replacement of a lost or defective TPA Card while retaining the STE’s User Card associations. Therefore,
there is no disruption of STE calling services to the current users. However, the newly created TPA Card
can only service the affected STE. The newly assigned TPA Card cannot serve as the TPA Card for any
other STE until it is assigned to those STEs as discussed in Paragraph
NOTE
When attempting to transfer TPA privileges, if an incorrect TPA password is
entered 10 times in succession, either maliciously or mistakenly, the STE will
delete the transfer password. The TPA will then need to create a new password.
Inputting the correct password will reset the incorrect password counter to zero, if you have not reached
the 10-attempt limit.
The steps for transferring TPA privileges to another crypto card are detailed here.
