IEEE 488.2 Common Commands
*CLS
Clear Status Command . Clears the event registers in all register groups. Also clears the Status Byte
and Error Queue. If *CLS immediately follows a program message terminator (<NL>), then the Output
Queue and the MAV bit are also cleared. Refer to

Event Status Enable Command and Query . Enables bits in the enable register for the Standard Event
Status group. A 1 in the bit position enables the corresponding event. The selected bits are then
reported to the ESB bit of the Status Byte Register. The query reads the enable register and returns a
decimal value which corresponds to the binary-weighted sum of all bits set in the register. Refer to
Status Tutorial for more information.

Event Status Register Query . Queries the event register for the Standard Event Status group. The
event register is a read-only register, which stores (latches) all standard events. Refer to Status
