Hard disk drive backplane
To remove the hard disk drive backplane:
Notes:
1. The IntelliStation R Pro does not have hard disk backplanes.
2. Read“Safety information” on page 147 and “Before you begin” on page 45
1. Power off the server/workstation.
2. Remove the cover. See “Removing the cover” on page 48.
3. Disconnect the backplane cable from the system board.
4. Pull out the hard drives in order to disconnect them from the backplane.
5.
Remove the screw from the top of the backplane bracket.
6. Gently but firmly lift the backplane bracket and board up from the chassis.
Power supply
To remove the power supply:
Note: Read“Safety information” on page 147 and “Before you begin” on page 45.
1. Power off the server/workstation.
2.
Remove the cover. See “Removing the cover” on page 48.
3. Disconnect the cables that connect the power supply to the system board.
4.
Remove the screws (2) from the side of the chassis.
5. Remove the screws at the back of the chassis and power supply.
