B-40 Backdating
HP-IB Address
When the instrument is switched on it determines its HP-IB
address from the address switches on the rear panel. The address
switches are preset at the factory to 12 decimal:
To change the address, change the bit settings on the rear panel
switch, then either press the
key, or switch the instrument
off and on again.
Pressing the
key will display the current HP-IB address in
decimal on the front panel digital display.

Delete the text in the section "Setting the HP-IB Address" in
Chapter 6, and replace it with the following:
The HP 8 1 1 2A HP-IB address is read from the address switch on
the rear panel when the instrument is switched on. The address
switch is set at the factory to 1 2 decimal.

Pressing the
key displays the current address while the key is
depressed.

When allocating addresses ensure that no two instruments on the
bus have the same address.
To change the instrument address:
1 .
Change the address on the rear-panel address-switch.
2. Press the
key or switch the instrument off and on
again.

In the section "General" in Chapter 10, correct the last sentence
to read:
The
six
board assemblies contained in the HP 8 1 16A are listed in
Table 1 0- 1 which lists the servicing chapters applicable to each
board.
5. Add the following line to Table 10- 1 in Chapter 1 0 :
