Installing Blade Components

Replace the mezzanine card(s) in their original locations. See "Installing a 
Mezzanine Card" on page 124.

Reinstall the hard-drive backplane. See "Hard-Drive Backplane" on page 148.

Replace the hard drive(s).

•

If there are two drives

, be sure and reinstall them in their original 

locations. 

•

If only one hard-drive is installed

, install it in bay 0.

Close the blade. See "Closing the Blade" on page 104.

Remove the plastic I/O connector covers from the back of the blade.

Install the blade in the system. See "Installing a Blade" on page 98.

Storage Controller Card (Service Only)

The storage controller board is located underneath the drive bays.

Removing the Storage Controller Board

Remove the blade. See "Removing a Blade" on page 96.

Open the blade. See "Opening the Blade" on page 100.

Remove the system board and place it on the work surface. See "Removing 
the System Board" on page 150.

Open the release lever to disengage the controller board edge connector 
from the system board connector.

Lift the controller board straight up from the system board.
