The fields that can be configured are described below:
Parameter
Description
View Name
Select an alphanumeric string of up to 32 characters that is used to identify the
group of MIB objects that a remote SNMP manager is allowed to access on the
Switch. The view name must exist in the SNMP View Table.
Access Right
Read Only
– Specify that SNMP community members using the community string
created can only read the contents of the MIBs on the Switch.
Read Write
– Specify that SNMP community members using the community string
created can read from, and write to the contents of the MIBs on the Switch.
Enter a case-sensitive
community
Type an alphanumeric string of up to 32 characters that is used to identify members
of an SNMP community. This string is used like a password to give remote SNMP
managers access to MIB objects in the Switch’s SNMP agent.
Enter the community
again for confirmation
Re-type the community.
Click the
Apply
button to accept the changes made.
Telnet Settings
Users can configure TELNET Settings on the Switch.
To view the following window, click
Management > Telnet Settings
, as shown below:

TELNET configuration is Enabled
by default. If you do not want to allow configuration of the
system through TELNET choose Disabled.
Port (1-65535)
The TCP port number used for TELNET management of the Switch. The “well-known” TCP
port for the TELNET protocol is

Web Settings
Users can configure the Web settings on the Switch.
