Upgrading the Software
The upgrade process involves three phases. These should be executed in the following
order:
1. File Management. This phase includes:
a) Examining the flash file system
b) Saving an active image file as the default
c) Deleting outdated files
d) Querying the flash file system
e) Optimizing the flash file system

The Switch Module and Remote Module units use image files with the “*.mab” extensions.

Examining the Flash File System
This procedure determines how many image files are on the flash file system.
Path:
Gateway (Remote) ->Utilities->Upgrade->Image List

If “default.mab” is the only file displayed in the list, go to
Optimizing the Flash File System
on the next page. Otherwise follow the steps to save the active image file as the default.
