Hints for Making a Successful Connection
1. Check that the cable being used is a straight-through cable, as supplied with the
Switch Module and Remote Module.
2. Exit and then restart HyperTerminal.
3. Connect using a different COM port on your computer.
4. Reboot your computer and then restart HyperTerminal.
5. The Switch Module and Remote Module Management Console password is not set by
default.
6. It’s strongly recommended that a password be set for security reasons. See
Changing
Passwords
for instructions.
7. Make a note of the password and pass it to the system administrator.
If the unit’s password is lost or forgotten please contact a customer support representative
at 1-877-248-3587 or
for details on how to reset the password.
Individual port passwords are not affected.
