To define the Test Plate parameters in Gen5™:
Gen5’s Reader Diagnostics Utility (PN 5320201) needs to be
installed before you can perform the Absorbance Plate Test in Gen5.
1. Select System | Diagnostics | Test Plates|Add/Modify Plates , and click
Add . Click the Help button for guidance.
To define the Test Plate parameters in KC4™:
1. Select System | Diagnostics | Define Universal Plates|Add . Click the
Help button for guidance.
To define the Test Plate parameters into KCjunior™:
1. Select Utilities | Diagnostics | Universal Plate Test .
2. Click New Data Sheet . Click the Help button for guidance.
Running the Absorbance Plate Test
IMPORTANT:
Before running the Absorbance Plate
Test, ensure that the reader is not running in Rapid
Mode. To check this, select
UTIL READ
and then
cycle through the prompts until
READ IN RAPID
MODE?
is displayed. Choose
NO
for an accurate result.
To run the Absorbance Plate Test from the instrument keypad:

Start at the Main Menu and select
UTIL TESTS CALPLATE
. The
SELECT TEST
menu will appear:

2 Select the appropriate wavelength at the
CALIBRATION FILTER
screen,
and press ENTER to save the value and continue.
