(5) Replacing the backup battery for the USIO PC Board - To be conducted by a technician only -
To protect the service staff and other people from electric shock, accident and
injury and to prevent damage to the electric circuitry of the machine, be sure
to turn off the power switch before initiating the described task.
Use the specified backup battery (lithium battery) and be sure to install it
correctly. Use of incorrect battery type or improper installation of backup battery
can cause the battery to catch a fire or explode.
The PC board can be easily damaged by static electricity. If the PC board is handled
by a person charged with static electricity, parts mounted on the PC board can
become damaged. Before touching the PC board, be sure to remove static electricity
from you body by touching a grounded metal.
When disposing of lithium batteries, insulate the positive (+) and negative (-)
terminals of each battery by wrapping tape. If the exposed terminals of a battery
contact a metal or another battery, a fire or explosion may result.
Dismount the USIO PC Board. (See P. 94 “8-3-3 (4) Replacing the USIO PC
Board.”)
Place the USIO PC Board on a flat surface such as on a desk.
Insert a nonconductive stick (such as a toothpick) into the indented section of
the battery holder and use it as a leverage to remove the backup battery. When
performing this, place a finger over the backup battery to prevent it from popping out
suddenly. (Use the CR2032 battery.)
Be sure to conduct an operation check after the described work is completed.
(See P. 49 "7-4-4 Switch input/output tests (I/O TEST)"
To reinstall, follow the removal sequence in reverse.
