Begin with the program at home position:
“SPECTRUM 100, IDLE”. Press the three-
key simultaneous entry for management rou-
tines (“NEW”+”ENTER”+”STATUS”)

The next prompt will ask you to choose the
required management activity: “SCROLL”
to highlight “SYSTEM TEST”, then press
“ENTER”.

During the test process, the system must
be “offl ine”: no dispenses may be active. A
prompt asks if you are prepared to go offl ine.
If yes, press ENTER; if not, press NEW, close
all dispense jobs then resume SP8 from the
beginning.

The next prompt will ask you to select a
type of system test: “SCROLL” to the right
to highlight “TEST ALL SC’S ?”, then press
“ENTER”.

The system will now run continuous func-
tional tests to verify proper operation of
Smart Controller electronics and their commu-
nications to / from the console. It will sequence
from SC to SC, displaying the station number
currently in test. When it completes a round
of tests, it will repeat the procedure. The pass
number indicates the number of completed
system test cycles. Press “NEW” to discontinue
further test cycles.

The display will change to “TEST ALL
SC’S ?” on the fi rst line, OR, if faults were
detected, one or more error messages will be
displayed. Write down error messages if they
occur. Trace error correction steps using the
Diagnostics section,
[pages 47-56]
.Then press
“NEW” to continue.

The display will change to “REQUIRED
ACTIVITY?” on the fi rst line. The system
is automatically resored to online status. Press
“NEW” again to continue.

The system will display “SPECTRUM 100
IDLE”. The console is now ready for other
operations.
