IP500 Basic Installation: Adding External Expansion Modules
Parts and Equipment Required
·
o
External Expansion Module.
Each module is supplied with a suitable external power supply unit and a 1m blue interconnect cable. 2m Yellow
interconnect cables are supplied with the IP500 4-Port Expansion card and should only be used with that card.

Power cord for the power supply unit

o
Rack mounting kit
(optional).

o
Cable labeling tags.
Procedure
1. Switch off power to the IP Office control unit.
2. Attach the external expansion module's power supply.
3. Connect the expansion interconnect cable from the module's EXPANSION port to the first free EXPANSION port on
the control unit.
4. Make careful note of the port used and include this detail on the cable label and any other system records.
5. Switch on power to the module. Wait for the center LED on the front of the module to change from red to green.
6. Switch on power to the control unit.
7. Once the control unit has rebooted, using IP Office Manager receive the system configuration.
8. Click on
Unit in the left-hand panel.
9. Check that the list of units shown in the right-hand panel is correct.
10.The external expansion modules should be upgraded to the same level of software as the control unit. Do this by
repeating the IP Office upgrade process (see
K. Upgrading the Core Software
).
