STIR WIRE
The tip of the probe must
be in the center of the
sample tube, an equal
distance from all surfaces.
The probe tip must be the
same distance from the
bottom of the tube as it is
from the side walls.
The flange of the man-
drel must be flush with
the head chassis.
The stir/freeze wire should
be 1-1.5 mm, (1/32-1/16”)
away from the mandrel
at this point. See bottom
view.
The stir/freeze wire should be
about 1 mm (1/32”) away from the
probe. Bend the wire if neces-
sary. The tip of the wire should
be 1.5 mm (1/16”) below the
probe tip. Loosen the stir/freeze
wire setscrew to enable vertical
adjustment.

j. If the current sample probe bin setting is the same as that just
determined, simply press the STOP button twice to return to
“Cryoscope Ready”
. If the current sample bin number set-
ting is not the same as that just determined, enter the correct bin
number by means of the numeric keypad, then press ENTER.
The display will change to
“Set Sample Bin #”
. Press STOP
to return to
“Cryoscope Ready”
.
