
Chapter 8. Point of Sale (POS)
You can have up to 99 different addons depending on your company policies.
There are other features set up with addons that allow different methods of
figuring the amount of the addon charge as well as marking it taxable and/or
discountable.
Description
This description can be up to 20 alpha-numeric
characters long. It is displayed at POS after entering the
addon number. It also prints on the Sales Analysis day
end report showing the day’s totals by addon code.
Add-On G/L Number
This is the G/L revenue account number to be credited.
You must have a G/L account number.
Tax Status
This field defines how sales tax is to be handled for this
addon. Enter one of the following:
Y
= Taxable
N
= Non-taxable
I
= Neither taxable nor non-taxable (used for
ROA and paid out)
Codes 1 and 2 are used for multiple tax situations:
1
= Tax 1 is taxable, Tax 2 is non-taxable.
2
= Tax 1 is non-taxable, Tax 2 is taxable.
Discountable
This field defines whether or not this addon is
discountable. Enter one of the following:
Y
= Allow discounts to be calculated on addon
amount.
N
= Do not allow discounts on addon amount.
Add-on Type
This field defines the addon type according to the
following:
0
= Normal.
1
= Memo amount only. Print on the ticket but do not
include the ticket totals.
2
= Memo amount only. Subtract from discountable
subtotal. For example, if an invoice amount is
$10,000 and $2,000 of that is a freight addon, only
$8,000 is the discountable amount. Used mostly in
wholesale environments.
Add-on Entry Type
This field specifies how the addon is to be calculated.
Enter one of the following:
F
= Flat amount. The amount is entered in the next
field.
P
= Percentage of subtotal. The percentage is entered in
the next field.
M
= Manually enter amount. At POS, the computer will
stop and allow the operator to enter the addon
amount.
