VP - 3.1 Platen Pre Check

Purpose: Perform this procedure to ensure all hardware is secure, keyboard settings are correct,
and needle is home before performing Platen Checks / Adjustments.

1. Remove covers.

2. Put Sample Loader in Manual Mode.

a. Press and Hold MAN and START.

b. Turn Power ON, hold keys down until BEEPING stops.

3. Set BAR (0/1) Switch to 1.

4. Set PRE rotary switch (if used) to 0 (painted dot faces 0).

5. Press (

N) to ensure Needle is Home (X and Y axis will not move when Needle is not home).

6. Tighten all Platen, Pusher Arm, Sensor, and Laser Shield hardware (

7. Ensure Tower is secure and straight (side to side and front to back). If Tower cannot be

straightened, call Tech Support.

8. Go to

“VP - 3.2 Platen Wall Check” (Page 3-20)
