29.1 PPPoE Intermediate Agent Overview

A PPPoE I nt er m ediat e Agent  ( PPPoE I A)  is deployed bet ween a PPPoE ser ver  and PPPoE client s. I t
helps t he PPPoE ser ver ident ify and aut hent icat e client s by adding subscr iber  line specific
infor m at ion t o PPPoE discover y packet s fr om  client s on a per- por t  or  per- por t - per- VLAN basis
befor e for war ding t hem  t o t he PPPoE ser ver.
