Pr ior it y decides w hich por t should be disabled w hen m or e t han one port for m s a loop in a
sw it ch. Por t s w it h a higher pr ior it y num eric value ar e disabled first . The allow ed range is
bet w een 0 and 255 and t he default value is 128.
Pat h Cost Pat h cost is t he cost of t ransm it t ing a fram e on t o a LAN t hr ough t hat por t . I t is
r ecom m ended t o assign t his value accor ding t o t he speed of t he br idge. The slow er t he
m edia, t he higher t he cost - see
Table 46 on page 122 for m or e infor m at ion.
