26.10.1 ARP Inspection Port Configure

also specify t he m axim um  rat e at  w hich t he Swit ch r eceives ARP packet s on each unt r ust ed por t . To
open t his scr een, click Adv a n ce d Applica t ion  >  I P Sou r ce  Gu a r d >  I Pv 4  Sou r ce  Gu a r d Se t u p

Sy slog rat e

Ent er  t he m axim um  num ber  of syslog m essages t he Sw it ch can send t o t he syslog
ser ver  in one bat ch. This num ber  is ex pressed as a rat e because t he bat ch fr equency
is det er m ined by  t he Log I n t e r v a l. You m ust  configur e t he syslog ser ver  (

) t o use t his. Ent er 0 if you do not want t he Sw it ch t o send log m essages

generat ed by ARP packet s t o t he sy slog ser ver.

The r elat ionship bet w een Sy slog r a t e and Log in t e r va l is illust rat ed in t he follow ing
exam ples:

•

4 invalid ARP packet s per second, Syslog r a t e is 5, Log in t e r va l is 1: t he Sw it ch

sends 4 sy slog m essages ever y second.

•

6 invalid ARP packet s per second, Syslog r a t e is 5, Log in t e r va l is 2: t he Sw it ch

sends 5 sy slog m essages ever y 2 seconds.

Log int er val

Ent er how  oft en ( 1- 86400 seconds)  t he Sw it ch sends a bat ch of sy slog m essages t o
t he sy slog ser ver. Ent er  0 if you want  t he Sw it ch t o send syslog m essages
im m ediat ely. See Sy slog r a t e  for  an ex am ple of t he r elat ionship bet w een Sy slog

Apply

Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Sw it ch’s r un- t im e m em or y. The Sw it ch loses

nav igat ion panel t o save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory w hen you are done
configuring.
