17.4.1 Static Trunking Example

Pr ior it y

LACP sy st em  pr ior it y is a num ber  bet w een 1 and 65,535. The sw it ch w it h t he low est  sy st em
pr ior it y  ( and low est  por t  num ber  if sy st em  prior it y  is t he sam e)  becom es t he LACP “ ser ver ”.
The LACP “ ser ver ”  cont r ols t he operat ion of LACP set up. Ent er  a num ber  t o set  t he pr ior it y  of
an act ive por t  using Link  Aggr egat ion Cont rol Pr ot ocol ( LACP) . The sm aller  t he num ber, t he
higher  t he pr ior it y level.

Gr oup I D

The field ident ifies t he link aggr egat ion gr oup, t hat is, one logical link cont aining m ult iple
por t s.

LACP Act ive

Select t his opt ion t o enable LACP for a t r unk .

Port

This field displays t he por t num ber.

Set t ings in t his r ow apply t o all por t s.

Use t his r ow only if you w ant t o m ake som e set t ings t he sam e for all por t s. Use t his r ow fir st
t o set t he com m on set t ings and t hen m ake adj ust m ent s on a por t - by- por t basis.

Note: Changes in this row are copied to all the ports as soon as you make them.

LACP Tim eout

Tim eout  is t he t im e int erval bet w een t he indiv idual por t  exchanges of LACP packet s in or der
t o check t hat  t he peer  por t  in t he t r unk gr oup is st ill up. I f a por t  does not  r espond aft er  t hree
t r ies, t hen it  is deem ed t o be “ dow n”  and is r em oved fr om  t he t r unk . Set  a shor t  t im eout
( one second)  for  busy t r unked links t o ensur e t hat  disabled por t s ar e r em oved fr om  t he t runk
gr oup as soon as possible.

Select eit her 1 second or 30 seconds.

Apply

Click  Apply  t o save your  changes t o t he Sw it ch’s r un- t im e m em or y. The Sw it ch loses t hese
changes if it  is t ur ned off or  loses pow er, so use t he Sa ve  link on t he t op nav igat ion panel t o
