29.1.2.2 Sub-Option Format
Ther e ar e t w o t ypes of sub- opt ion: “Agent Cir cuit I D Sub- opt ion” and “Agent Rem ot e I D Sub-
opt ion”. They have t he following for m at s.
The 1 in t he fir st field ident ifies t his as an Agent Cir cuit I D sub- opt ion and 2 ident ifies t his as an
Agent Rem ot e I D sub- opt ion. The next field specifies t he lengt h of t he field. The Swit ch t akes t he
Cir cuit I D st r ing you m anually configur e for a VLAN on a por t as t he highest pr ior it y and t he Circuit
I D st r ing for a por t as t he second pr ior it y. I n addit ion, t he Swit ch put s t he PPPoE client ’s MAC
addr ess int o t he Agent Rem ot e I D Sub- opt ion if you do not specify any user- defined st r ing.

I f you do not configur e a Cir cuit I D st r ing for a VLAN on a specific port or for a specific por t , t he
Swit ch adds t he user - defined ident ifier st r ing and var iables int o t he Agent Cir cuit I D Sub- opt ion.
The var iables can be t he slot I D of t he PPPoE client , t he por t num ber of t he PPPoE client and/ or t he
VLAN I D on t he PPPoE packet .
The ident ifier- st r ing, slot I D, por t num ber and VLAN I D ar e separat ed fr om each ot her by a pound
key ( # ) , sem i- colon ( ; ) , per iod ( . ) , com m a ( ,) , for war d slash ( / ) or space. An Agent Cir cuit I D Sub-
opt ion exam ple is “ Sw it ch/ 07/ 0123” and indicat es t he PPPoE packet s com e fr om a PPPoE client
w hich is connect ed t o t he Sw it ch’s por t 7 and belong t o VLAN 123.
