Ping Test
I Pv 4 Select t his opt ion if you want t o ping an I Pv 4 addr ess, and select v la n t o specify t he I D
num ber of t he VLAN t o w hich t he Sw it ch is t o send ping r equest s. Ot her w ise, select - t o
send ping r equest s t o all VLANs on t he Sw it ch.
I Pv 6 Select t his opt ion if you want t o ping an I Pv 6 addr ess. You can also select v la n and
specify t he I D num ber of t he VLAN t o w hich t he Sw it ch is t o send ping r equest s.
Ot her w ise, select - t o send ping request s t o all VLANs on t he Sw it ch.
Count Ent er t he num ber of I CMP Echo Request ( ping) m essages t he Sw it ch cont inuously sends.

Trace Rout e Test

t races t he pat h. Ot her w ise, select - t o t race t he pat h on any VLAN.
Note: The device to which you want to run a traceroute must belong to the VLAN you
specify here.

addr ess.
TTL Ent er t he Tim e To Live ( TTL) value for t he I CMP Echo Request packet s. This is t o set t he
m ax im um num ber of t he hops ( r out er s) a packet can t ravel t hr ough. Each r out er along
t he pat h w ill decr em ent t he TTL value by one and for war d t he packet s. When t he TTL
value becom es zer o and t he dest inat ion is not found, t he r out er dr ops t he packet s and
inform s t he sender.

Port This is t he num ber of t he phy sical Et her net por t on t he Sw it ch.
Channel An Et her net cable usually has four pair s of w ir es. A 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX por t only
use and t est t w o pair s, w hile a 1000BASE-T por t r equir es all four pair s.
