8. After ȱ tightening ȱ the ȱ screws, ȱ inspect ȱ the ȱ blade ȱ and ȱ make ȱ sure ȱ that ȱ it ȱ is ȱ
straight. ȱ If ȱ necessary, ȱ loosen ȱ the ȱ screws ȱ and ȱ tighten ȱ them ȱ again, ȱ evenly.
9. Return ȱ the ȱ roller ȱ waste ȱ collector ȱ assembly ȱ and ȱ the ȱ right ȱ UV ȱ lamp ȱ to ȱ
the ȱ print ȱ block. ȱ See ȱ steps ȱ 6 ȱ to ȱ 4, ȱ from ȱ page 29.
Aligning the
Print Heads
You ȱ should ȱ check ȱ the ȱ alignment ȱ of ȱ the ȱ print ȱ heads— ȱ
•
once ȱ a ȱ month
•
after ȱ replacing ȱ one ȱ or ȱ more ȱ heads
•
if ȱ model ȱ quality ȱ is ȱ not ȱ acceptable ȱ even ȱ after ȱ cleaning ȱ the ȱ orifice ȱ plate ȱ on ȱ
the ȱ bottom ȱ of ȱ the ȱ print ȱ block ȱ (see ȱ “Cleaning ȱ the ȱ Print ȱ Heads ȱ and ȱ the ȱ
Roller” ȱ on ȱ page 20)
This ȱ procedure ȱ takes ȱ about ȱ 20 ȱ minutes.
To check the alignment of the print heads:
1. Prepare—
•
a ȱ transparency ȱ sheet—A Ȭ 4 ȱ or ȱ Letter ȱ size
•
any ȱ type ȱ of ȱ sticky ȱ tape, ȱ to ȱ fasten ȱ the ȱ transparency ȱ sheet ȱ to ȱ the ȱ build ȱ
tray
2. Start ȱ the ȱ Head ȱ Alignment ȱ wizard ȱ from ȱ the ȱ Options ȱ menu ȱ (see ȱ
figure 6 Ȭ 8 ȱ on ȱ page 11).
3. Click ȱ Next ȱ to ȱ begin, ȱ and ȱ close ȱ the ȱ cover.
4. In ȱ the ȱ wizard ȱ screen, ȱ select ȱ the ȱ check ȱ box ȱ to ȱ confirm ȱ that ȱ the ȱ cover ȱ is ȱ
closed, ȱ and ȱ click ȱ

5. When ȱ instructed ȱ to ȱ do ȱ so, ȱ place ȱ the ȱ transparency ȱ on ȱ the ȱ build ȱ tray— ȱ
next ȱ to ȱ the ȱ left ȱ and ȱ rear ȱ edges ȱ of ȱ the ȱ tray, ȱ as ȱ shown ȱ in ȱ the ȱ following ȱ
figure.

6. Make ȱ sure ȱ that ȱ the ȱ transparency ȱ sheet ȱ is ȱ lying ȱ flat, ȱ and ȱ tape ȱ it ȱ to ȱ the ȱ
tray.
7. In ȱ the ȱ wizard ȱ screen, ȱ select ȱ the ȱ check ȱ box ȱ to ȱ confirm ȱ that ȱ the ȱ
transparency ȱ sheet ȱ is ȱ on ȱ the ȱ build ȱ tray, ȱ and ȱ click ȱ Next .
The ȱ printer ȱ prints ȱ the ȱ head ȱ alignment ȱ test ȱ on ȱ the ȱ transparency.
