USING THE VARIOUS SHOOTING FUNCTIONS

Dynamic Range Magnification Photography (Wide Range Shot)

For still image shooting, the dynamic range magnification mode, in which two consecutive shots
are taken at different exposures, is available. This enhances the photo quality, giving a smooth
gradation between light and dark portions, and minimal noise in the dark portions.

1

Press the MODE button to display the Shooting Setting
Screen.

2

Select the dynamic range magnification on icon

Â

from the dynamic range magnification menu, and press
the SET button.

Â

: For photography using dynamic range magnification

(wide range shot ON).

Ã

: For normal photography (wide range shot OFF).

œ

This completes the dynamic range magnification setting.

œ

To exit the Shooting Setting Screen, press the MODE
button.

œ

You can set the main switch to “MONITOR OFF” and
take pictures using the viewfinder.

3

Press the shutter release button.

œ

The image is captured in the dynamic range magnification mode.

NOTE

To cancel the dynamic range magnification mode setting (to shoot in the initial setting)

œ

After performing step 1, select the

Ã

icon from the dynamic range magnification menu and

press the SET button.

About the dynamic range magnification mode

œ

When the dynamic range magnification mode is selected, the exposure control setting is
automatically set to

Ï

, the flash operation mode to

j

(flash off), digital zoom setting to

“OFF” and the quick shot setting to

Q

. In addition, when the dynamic range magnification

mode is exited, these settings are restored.

œ

If the subject is too light or too dark, the dynamic range magnification mode may not be
effective.

œ

The captured image of a moving subject may be blurred.
