USING THE VARIOUS SHOOTING FUNCTIONS
Adding a Voice Memo
In the still image shooting mode, you can record approximately 4 seconds of sound (called a
“voice memo”) when capturing the image. You can also add a voice memo to an image previously
recorded (see “ADDING A VOICE MEMO (ADD AUDIO FUNCTION)” on page 107).

Press the MODE button to display the Shooting Setting
Screen.

Select add voice memo icon

from the voice memo
menu and press the SET button.

: For adding a voice memo.

: For not adding a voice memo.

This completes the voice memo setting.
œ
The voice memo setting is returns to off when the main
switch is set to
Ô
, or the digital camera is turned off.
œ
To exit the Shooting Setting Screen, press the MODE
button. When the Shooting Setting Screen disappears,
the voice memo icon

appears on the upper right
side of the LCD monitor.

Press the shutter release button to capture the image
and then talk into the microphone.

4 seconds of sound are recorded.
œ
During the recording,
K
appears in the upper right side
of the LCD monitor.
œ
When the voice memo is finished, the setting returns to
the no voice memo setting.
œ
The voice memo can be played back in the still image
playback mode (see page 92).
NOTE
œ
When the compression ratio is set to
L
, it takes approximately 10 seconds for the image data
to be recorded (when using a CompactFlash card). The voice memo will start after this. When
the recording for the voice memo begins,
K
will appear in the upper right side of the LCD
monitor.
œ
The voice memo function cannot be used in the sequential shot shooting mode.
œ
In the video clip mode, the sound is recorded automatically.
œ
Each voice memo uses one-half the memory of an image captured at a resolution of

and
compression rate of
